Treasure trove of pieces
Turning off all of my impulses to gatekeep my favorite secondhand items this week
A lot of my spare time is spent hunting. While I’m not an archer, I’m an excellent treasure hunter. My usual suspects are ones you’ve heard of like eBay, Depop and Etsy; but lately I’ve loved browsing expert curation services. They posess their own unique take on what pieces should be resurrected. Examples of shops I frequent include: 59 Eastfield Vintage, Desert Vintage, Club Vintage, The Millennial Decorator, Holly’s Closet Case and The Idle Shop. I love slipping on their rose-colored glasses to view what is fashionable in their eyes.
Today I’m sharing some of my favorite secondhand finds and how I would style them, (though I want to gatekeep these for myself) they deserve to be shared and loved.
My mom was a huge Princess Diana fan, and if you’re a proponent of trickle down theory, you can guess that this style was bred into me like the stipulations the crown placed upon the women of Buckingham Palace.
I think Princess Diana was at the forefront of the sporty and rich vibe. It always does it for me, oftentimes more so than glitter with a wrong shoe. It’s not lost on me that Sporty and Rich is an actual brand - one that I love - but I do prefer to accomplish that aura the old fashioned way; with pieces I’ve gathered and collected over the years. Like your favorite PE class MVP, it’s obvious I love a gym short with a cool top and a vintage cap with a crochet skirt.
Also just a reminder that your local thrift shops have great finds if you take the time to look, it doesn’t always have to be an online shopping spree. I KNOW that patience is key here, you can visit four thrift and vintage shops in one day and not find one good thing. Remember the hunt is what makes your wardrobe special and unique.
I love you all, hope you have a great week and uncover some gems of your own! Xoxo, Megan
And now for the logistics.. I may earn a small commission if you purchase using one of the links above - it’s at no extra cost to you and helps connect this newsletter to brands for (hopefully) future collaborations which would benefit readers! I promise to only recommend things I know that I love.
